Forest Green Rovers team up with The Padel Club Gloucester to grow local sporting community.
Forest Green Rovers are proud to announce a new partnership with The Padel Club – the region’s first dedicated padel facility – as part of our commitment to building stronger connections within the community.
The collaboration brings together two like-minded organisations united by a shared mission to playing sports and social activity more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for all.
Growing participation, growing community
Padel participation continues to rise rapidly in the UK. As a mix of tennis and squash, padel is a highly sociable, easy-to-learn team sport that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get active.
Through this new partnership, both organisations will invite new and existing supporter’s exclusive opportunities, discounts and engaging events at The New Lawn or The Padel Club Gloucester. As a football club in the heart of the community, Forest Green Rovers is committed to helping fans, players, and local people experience the physical and social benefits of watching and playing sport. Further to our recent ‘Football on pPrescription’ initiative, this new partnership will help us deliver this commitment.
The partnership also highlights the transferrable skills between sports, with padel’s emphasis on movement, communication, and cohesion offering clear benefits to footballers and athletes alike.
Supporting the local active economy
The Padel Club Gloucester, backed by well-known sports stars, is at the forefront of the UK’s padel growth story. Its mission aligns with Forest Green Rovers’ values: championing inclusivity, breaking down barriers to participation, and building positive, sustainable habits through sport.
By working together, FGR and The Padel Club aim to grow participation in both football and padel, creating more pathways for people in Gloucestershire to discover the joy of team sport.
