A note from The Joshua Tree...

The Joshua Tree supports families across the North West England and North Wales to provide bespoke programmes of support to improve the emotional and mental wellbeing of children and their wider family who are affected by childhood cancers. From the moment of diagnosis and throughout their journey, we stand by families, understanding that each cancer experience is unique.

We work to support the whole family unit- from the patient and parents to siblings and grandparents. We recognise that every family’s cancer journey is unique and we tailor our support in response to their needs.

From counselling and play therapy to health and wellbeing advice, practical assistance in the home, and educational engagement, ensuring that life maintains an aspect of normalcy during a challenging time.

As CEO of the Charity, Richard Driffield states, “We know there are children who are at different stages of their cancer journeys. Some have just been diagnosed whilst others may have ‘rung the bell’ to signal the end of treatment many years ago. Whilst it is a monumental milestone to finish cancer treatment, the emotional impact, the healing and the processing of what’s happened doesn’t end there.”

At The Joshua Tree, we continue to provide support beyond remission, offering ongoing care as families transition into the next phase of their lives. Our commitment to their wellbeing remains unwavering, guiding them through every step of their journey.
